Lisa E. Chowansky

Board Member, SDDC, President, H.C. Constructors, Inc.

After graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Lisa spent the first 10 years of her professional career working as an Account Executive based in New Jersey for Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems. Her responsibilities included account management for all Johnson & Johnson domestic operating companies. During that time, Lisa was the recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the company.

In 1997, Lisa left the corporate world to pursue the growth and development of HC Constructors, Inc., a heavy civil commercial construction company based in Whitehouse Station, NJ. For over 20 years, Lisa has been leading HC Constructors, Inc. as President and Owner. A General Contractor specializing in Sitework, Underground Utilities, and Concrete; HC Constructors, Inc. prides itself on Safety, Integrity and a Solutions Based Approach. Under Lisa’s leadership the organization has realized significant growth and expansion.

Lisa currently serves on the New Jersey Chapter of Professional Women in Construction’s Board of Directors as President. Professional Women in Construction’s mission is to support, advance, and connect women and promote diversity within the architecture, engineering, construction, (AEC) and related industries. She is also serving as a board member on the NJ Supplier Diversity Development Council. The NJSDDC is dedicated to forging effective working relationships amongst minority, women and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses and New Jersey public utilities and the Board of Public Utilities. In addition, she is a member of the board of directors for the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce.

Lisa is also an active member of the NJ Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA), ACCNJ and the NJ Alliance for Action.

In 2017, Lisa was honored by the Professional Women in Construction as a “Woman of Achievement” and selected as a “Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs” by the Leading Women Entrepreneurs organization where she currently serves as an Advisor. In 2019, she received the “50 Best Women in Business Award” from NJBIZ.
Lisa and her husband, Harry, reside in Long Valley, New Jersey with their four daughters.
